Nottingham Road is known as the ‘heart’ of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands Meander and its pulse of hospitality beats through the beautiful surroundings. The site is about 80 minutes by car from Durban. The site forms part of the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park, now declared a World Heritage Site.

Take the N3 north (to Johannesburg). Take exit 125 to Balgowan. At the top of the off ramp, turn left on to Curry’s Post Road. Follow this to the crest of the hill (about 3kms) and turn right at the D2078 (sign for The Reeds at Balgowan). Stay to the left (at the fork) on this country road for about 2.5kms until you come to the gatehouse for The Reeds at Balgowan. Coordinates are -29.358733, 30.055997.
From Johannesburg:
Take the N3 south (to Durban). Travel through the Mooi River tollbooth station. Then take Exit 125 to Balgowan (about 19kms south). Turn right on to Curry’s Post Road. Follow this to the crest of the hill (about 3kms) and turn right at the D2078 (sign for The Reeds at Balgowan). Stay to the left (at the fork) on this country road for about 2.5kms until you come to the gatehouse for The Reeds at Balgowan. Coordinates are -29.358733, 30.055997.
